The most challenging and intimidating time in my life was when I became a mom for the first time. I was scared, nervous, and afraid I would do something wrong. There were many mistakes made but I finally got it right. My daughter was born with multiple health issues, so that first year was very difficult. She and I spent a lot of time in and out the Hospital. Over the years I was able to understand that life is full of mistakes. It's not the mistakes but the lessons learned from them that matter. Since those challenging times I have grown a lot, my knowledge and my understanding of parenting is much better now. There are a lot of challenges that I faced and situations I had to deal with, but they made me a better person and above all else a better mom to my kids. It just goes to show what someone can do when even they think they can't. The thing in my life that changed was my own self-worth, having to birth and raise children on my own allowed me to see a lot about myself that I never knew. I never really had any positive role models in my home to show me. It made me learn how to believe in myself and what I can do with or without anyone's help.
