“Just do you.” I have heard these three words many times throughout my life, but never gave them much thought until moving to college. Moving from high school to college has been a big transition for me and I have tried to use these new experiences to better myself. In my life I have always worried about what other people wanted of me, thought about me, and what they cared about, but never “just did me”. Going into college has taught me that doing what makes me happy is the best thing that I can do to better myself and those around me. There have been many different aspects to this such as new study methods, a new way of working out, not caring what others think of my clothing, and treating people in a new way. These transitions in me have changed the way I look at life into a much more positive way. I now wake up everyday excited to start a new day instead of dreading every little thing that annoyed me. I look forward to getting dressed in the morning in whatever I want, going to the gym and working out however I feel, and doing activities I love. Those simple three words have changed my life and improved my mental and physical health more than anything else ever has.
