A challenge that felt intimidating that now feels manageable is raising two babies under the age of two. My husband and I knew early on that once we wanted to start our family we wanted two under two, we just didn't realize how challenging it would be especially when I have to solo parent while my husband is at work. I have an 18 month old son and a one month old daughter and they are very different! When one is asleep the other is awake and when one is crying the other is too. I have spent countless hours wondering, "why did we do this" and thinking "I am not going to survive this alone" but I prayed about it and my conclusion was to of course ask my mom since she basically knows everything! She told me to work on getting on a schedule and keep it no matter how hard it was getting it started. So I began working on this said schedule. It took about two weeks to get a hang of this two under two lifestyle but it has saved my life. I make time to attend to the needs of both my babies without them feeling neglected all while not neglecting my needs as well. When I need help I'm not scared to ask for it. What changed was my mindset. To not think "I am not going to survive this" and instead start everyday thinking "I will survive this." It also helps that I have a village because the saying "it takes a village" is 100% true! Without my mom, sisters, and best friends I wouldn't have been able to think straight and come up with a plan to figure out my two under two schedule. So, even though I thought two under two was a challenge that was intimidating, it now feels much more manageable.
