Staying on schedule by Bridget - February 2026 Scholarship Essay
I keep my schedule of pending documents and applications in check by writing down in chronological order whatever obligations and deadlines I have coming up and the degree of completion thereof. Line items that require longer term and/or more detailed completion will have their subsections marked and the formatting changed in some way once that section is completed to maintain a realistic assessment of progress. Links are kept in separate data fields so automatic formatting preferences can’t delete anything that search engine optimization would make difficult to find again. Separate fields are used to indicate whether something is completed so nothing winds up being done twice. Unrelated topics are kept in different files to cut down on load times. After more pertinent things are taken care of, side projects can be worked into the list of priorities. Other projects are prioritized based on degree of completion and how long a period of time per performance it would take to make it worthwhile to choose this activity over another. This is one of the better options I have for reducing the project backlog and getting things to a viable stopping point on the projects that require more active time and effort to achieve a worthwhile result.
