Scatterbrain Goals by Avery - April 2026 Scholarship Essay
One skill I plan to master in the next few years is organization. My future career goal is to become an elementary teacher, and the organization I believe plays a key role in it. I have always struggled with my organization. It’s just something that I don’t find easy to do. There are a few points in time when I start organizing something, and I enjoy it, but I always end up back where I was before: cluttered. I’ll clean my room, it stays clean for some time, then I get lost in life, and it’s back to being all cluttered. So it’s definitely something that I should master before my time of becoming a teacher. And especially before I get my own house. This past year as a senior, I’ve been the busiest I’ve ever been. So it’s definitely been hard trying to stay organized.
I plan to develop this skill just by creating a routine that works for me. I want to rewrite the bible and start journaling. I want to get my room all cleaned up and get all my clothes put away. One way I can start this routine is to set a day that works best for my schedule, and do all the stuff I want to do. I could even time myself that way; I actually get it done. But not only does all of that stuff need to be organized. I need to get my schedule all organized. I should start carrying around my planner I have, and start writing everything down. Because in college, I for sure will need to use a planner. I have a huge scatterbrain when it comes to remembering anything.
