In the book dead poet's society Mr. Keating, a passionate teacher influences young boys. The character that caught my attention was a character named Neil. He was one of the main characters in the book. He had so much passion and ambition which I feel like connected me with him quick. Not only was he optimistic but he had dreams of becoming an actor. His father didn't agree with his life choices, and it crushed Neil leading him to tragically take his. His teacher Mr. Keating had pushed him to pursue it and often in class encouraged the boys to escape their comfort zone and go after whatever it was, they set their mind to. I learned through this when you want your life to go one way let it no matter who tries to stand in your way. It's important to not let their words disintegrate your dreams and the many thoughts you have in your mind of going far. Whether your dream viewed as unacceptable in society, allow yourself to intake what is best for you. My parents have certain views upon me and paths they want me to follow in the future, but I can't let that define me. All I can do is hope they can one day accept I have a mind of my own with big dreams. These may not be their dreams but their someone's, and that someone is me.
