Quality of Education by Ann - September 2025 Scholarship Essay

Education is an opportunity that many people take for granted. Students do not know how lucky they are to be able to earn free education, while others wish they were able to. Education is an important aspect and the foundation of society. Without education, society would be unstable and would not grow. Education allows economic growth, promotes the workforce, and encourages problem-solving and critical thinking. Education is rapidly growing and advancing. Over the next 10 years, I hope to see better career-related hands-on skills in education and the integrated use of AI.

I anticipate that there will be better hands-on skills for students to learn their career pathway. Schools should have a class that teaches a different job pathway each day so students can explore different options of interest. They can alternate between different job specialties based on the majority of their interests. With this, students can get an idea of what they want to do and be prepared for their career. They will be more successful in finding their career. Similarly, I hope that schools can provide internships to hospitals or technological offices. This way, students will obtain hands-on skills. Some public schools have already started implementing this, but I hope that private and charter schools will do this too.

Additionally, over the next 10 years, I hope to see the use of AI to help teachers and students with learning. Ideas such as AI tutors for students to ask questions and organize the work will take the extra workload off teachers. Similarly, students can use AI for feedback on work instead of having to ask teachers. Adding on to this, I hope that work can be graded by AI so that feedback can be returned to students faster and more efficiently. It is important when using AI in education to use it responsibly and ethically.

Most importantly, I hope that in the next year there will be better treatment and pay for our educators. They are the cornerstone of education. Without them, education would not be possible.
