Business by Angel - January 2026 Scholarship Essay

One day I gained the idea of making a small little business of something I didn't really mind what but I just wanted to create one. It started with selling candies and chips in school and earning some cash it felt amazing having my own cash at that time. A few years after that I actually wanted to do an actual awesome business although it wasn't even a business. I have seen some tik toks of people making custom glitter cups with designs or stickers and that's when I told my mom I wanted to try to make some custom cute cups.
My mom helped me buying the resources I need to make the cups. I ended up making my very fist custom cup out of Christmas theme since it was Christmas season. I was so proud of my accomplishment and i knew i wanted to make more. So from there I started getting good at making them and started making custom cups for my family. I felt like i wanted to expand my mini business so i started selling some in my school and made some money. I made so many cute ones and would post photos on my Instagram page to show what i do so i can promote them. Unfortunately i started getting no sells and stopped selling them. My dream was to actually make it a business and sell it across the world but didn't. It was a really fun and learning experience for me.
After the experiences I learned with creating a mini business and tried selling, I have learned what I want my interest to be which is to major in Business Management in college and see if i can pursue my career there. Currently I'm an freshmen in college and am planning to set my major as business management since I'm currently undecided. I hope to continue my goal to sell custom cups across the world.
