I am a physician and medical educator with extensive experience helping students prepare for exams, including certification exams, and completing course work in the health professions. I received my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and biology from Brandeis University in 2009 and my MD from Boston University in 2014. I matched into a competitive general surgery residency, but left to pursue teaching full time. Most of my time has been with paramedic students, but I've worked with students from all areas of medicine and outside medicine. What draws me to teaching is the opportunity to work closely with a student to build both their understanding of a subject and confidence in their abilities; nothing is as rewarding as that moment when a difficult subject "clicks" for a student! I primarily tutor in the life and biomedical sciences, and physiology is probably my favorite subject to teach (it's so complex and fascinating!), though I do love pharmacology and basic biology, as well. I am also in their combined eight year baccalaureate/MD program (PLME).As a PLME, I take all of the typical pre-med classes, with a renewed focus on the humanities as well, which entails classes in English, the social sciences and so forth.Although I have taken a wide variety of classes, I am most passionate about biology, especially those which relate to the human body.
