I received my teaching degree from UNC Charlotte and I am currently in my 11th year of teaching. For five of those years, I taught in a middle school setting for students with special needs. I am licensed for K-12 special education. About 6 years ago I transitioned to the private teaching sector and assist students of varying ages and ability levels. I chose to become an educator because I enjoy seeing students succeed and watching them grow to be independent learners.

I am a graduate from UNC Greensboro with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development: Child, Youth and Family Studies. I am passionate about early intervention and education. I believe every student deserves a fighting chance at excelling in their grade level.I've been a mentor at the YWCA with teen mothers for about 3 years and worked with elementary school students at the Boys and Girls Club. Within my time at both of these organizations I realized I have a true gift of connecting with young students and giving them the tools to succeed.My favorite subjects to tutor is anything related to ELS, Social Sciences and basic Spanish. I've always excelled in English and loved writing even as a young child.As a tutor I am dedicated, thorough and encouraging. I am great at adapting to my students needs and pushing them to be the best they can be!

I am currently a student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a degree in Computer Science. I not only am incredibly passionate about programming and computer science, but about math and learning in general. I have experience teaching people young and old about computers and the way the work in depth. I love meeting new people and finding out the way they think so I can better serve them as a teacher.

I am currently attending CPCC in order to complete my Associates in Science degree. My goal in the future is to aim towards earning a PHD. Throughout the years the tutoring experience I gained was from ages five to eighteen including the subjects of 6-12th grade Math, English, Spanish, along with Elementary English reading and writing . Tutoring a variety of ages was such a delightful experience! Furthermore, I was able to tutor kids through after school programs as well as really connect with them and understand their learning style which helped them succeed a strive for even higher goals. The subjects I tutor are: Elementary school reading, English, Elementary school writing, High School writing, and Essay editing. I absolutely enjoy teaching English comprehension and writing due to the fact that there are many fun and creative ways to learn how to write and read! Also, to connect with the student you must also engage them with activities and make it a fun learning experience for them. My tutoring style is not to just sit down with my student and teach. I prefer to first understand the way the individual likes to learn and feels more comfortable learning. I also like to add videos and activities regarding the subject I am tutoring in order for the student to be able to use the videos along with the tips and trips they have learned and to incorporate it into their writing!

I am currently a fourth year medical student who is looking forward to helping other students enjoy math and science! I have a masters of science in physiology from Georgetown was well as a bachelors degree in anthropology with minors in medical Spanish and chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill. Having been in school for a very long time, I understand that everyone learns differently and at different paces. I will tailor my tutoring to best help you achieve the grades and changes that you would like to see.

Working with students is something that is truly so rewarding to me. I look forward to doing it for a career, but until then, I am eager to get every chance I can to work with students as much as possible! I am a junior student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the college of education working towards my B.A. in Elementary Education (K-6). I have gained an incredible amount of experience working with elementary students while studying in this program as weekly I visit elementary schools and work closely with a mentor teacher as well as the students. My tutoring experience comes from being in school as well, as the college of education partnered with HEART tutoring, which allowed me to tutor a second and fourth grader in math once a week this past semester. With that being said, I have more experience tutoring elementary math, however I have completed K-2 coursework for reading/writing as well. Math is probably my favorite subject to tutor just because I love to hear students explain their reasoning when solving a problem and seeing them reach the correct solution is pure joy. Outside of academia, I love to read, workout, paint, and play with my cat (his name is Dash)!

My university course, especially my teaching and tutoring practice, has confirmed my belief that teaching is one of the most challenging, demanding, but varied and exciting career which requires the experience and knowledge of how a tutor teaches. I am an Electrical Engineering student pursuing my degree at Boston University. My previous tutoring and teaching assistant experience made me believe we have multiple intelligences and that every person has the potential to be gifted, but that this can present itself in many different ways. Therefore, everyone have their own preferred learning style, which best suits their intelligence. As a tutor, I feel I can best meet person's learning needs if I am aware of the learning style suited to them. I tutor elementary and advanced subjects that include Physics, Mathematics(Calculus I/II/III, Statistics, Trig and Algebra), Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biology and Electrical Engineering courses. Examinations that I am most familiar with are SAT subjects, GCSE, A-level, IB, AP and advanced university courses.
