It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I realized that I wanted to teach and better the students of today. Everyone talks about our next generation and how they are going to dictate the direction of this nation, and I believe that with the right education this nation could be in good hands. It takes more than just being a spring of knowledge to better students education. You need to build relationships with the students you are teaching. My goal is to not only teach students the appropriate knowledge they need to know to succeed in their future, but to build relationships with them that will stay with them throughout their educational career. I still talk to teachers that influenced me the most during elementary school and I hope to have the same impact on students whether I am actually teaching them, or just tutoring them.

Mathematics is a fundamental tool for understanding and exploring the real world.

I am currently working towards a Bachelor's of Arts in History, focusing on historiography, specifically Sovietology. I tutor all the humanitarian topics, including the SAT verbal and writing, English, essay composition and editing, world and U.S. history, and the whole spectrum of the REGENTS test.I like to break things down to their fundamentals and learn from the bottom up, so that it's easier to see how all the pieces of a topic fit together. A ten page paper might seem intimidating, until you break it down into a list of bullet points and ideas. Patience is a virtue and I exercise it dutifully. I'm comfortable tutoring all ages; a bit of empathy can span even decades, I believe.In my free time, I love surrounding myself with books and scraps of paper with inky pens, but when I do escape from between the pages I swim and play volleyball. I'm also fluent in Russian.

I enjoy tutoring many subjects but my favorites to tutor are for the LSAT, SAT, and GRE exams. Beginning with summers spent at a remote wilderness camp, overseeing a rambunctious cabin and leading extensive expeditions, and leading into my study of education, writing, communication and social work in college (alongside theatre, dance and music), I've continually found opportunities to involve myself in teaching and counseling.I started The Writer's Workshop, a tutoring program for young writers in the community surrounding Millikin University, a housing project in Ecuador for displaced mothers and children, and a freelance business as a casting director specializing in kids and on-set performance coaching.I tutored at Bread & Roses Advocacy Center in college, was the Spanish teacher for the afterschool K-6th A.C.E. program (Associates in Cultural Exchange), created and edited material for the online education company Apex Learning, ran an afterschool arts program at Sayre Beacon High School, and instructed youth skiing at the Canyons Resort (now Park City Mountain). From there, I went on to coach debate teams and judge regional tournaments with the Western Bay Forensics League, guest lecture in the arts with various universities, and am now intermittently teaching and tutoring in Manhattan and Brooklyn with Behind The Book.Outside of teaching and performing, I write everyday, have a mentor at The New York Times, am entrenched in the professional published poets circle, advise and edit scripts for screenwriters, and absolutely love helping others develop their voice, style, verbage and language intuition.I am a quick and informative editor when it comes to tightening a piece, or rather embellishing creative writing to include further imagery and voice.And as for said voice, I'm an actor and host who has been public speaking all my life.
