I am a PhD student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In 2025, I completed my Masters of Science student at Georgetown University studying Infectious Disease with a 4.0 GPA. In 2024, I graduated from Vanderbilt University with my bachelors degree as a triple major in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Political Science, and Communications of Science and Technology. While at Vanderbilt, I was a Teaching Assistant in both the Department of Biology where I taught Introduction to Biology, and the Department of Political Science where I worked with students studying Middle East Politics. In these roles, I directly engaged with students to enhance their comprehension of each subject, refine their written communication abilities, and bolster their note-taking and test-taking skills. I was also captain of Vanderbilt's Debate Team for two years and am extremely passionate about effective communication and respectful discourse. In this role, I taught college and elementary school students the art of argumentation and debate while emphasizing the significance of public speaking in contemporary society. While I am qualified to tutor a broad range of subjects and students, I am most passionate about tutoring mathematics and science. Through my experience as a high school tutor and college teaching assistant, I've directly observed the challenges students face in grasping these subjects, particularly at early education levels or among those with learning differences. Without sufficient practice and assistance, students can fall behind and lose their love of learning. I firmly believe that our natural curiosity and love of learning should be harnessed in the classroom, not dampened down. In pursuit of this, I encourage creative thinking and problem-solving and use various pedagogy techniques, such as active recall, to engage students in my classroom and tutoring sessions. I try to instill in all of my students that they are capable of great things and that learning is beautiful, because I truly believe that it is. I have been a tutor for over seven years, and have just reached my one-year anniversary with Varsity Tutors. I am excited to work with you and your child to unlock their fullest potential both inside and outside the classroom!

I am a graduate of University of Chicago and a current graduate of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College. I have been teaching for the last 5 years and am very passionate about helping students achieve their goals. I believe a great teacher puts their students need first, and adheres to their students learning style. I am currently applying for residency in General surgery and I believe that I would be an excellent tutor to help you score well on your board exams. In my experience, helping students with crushing their board exams have been the most enjoyable because it allowed the students to have a tangible outcome on their future. With high stake exams its necessary to have a tutor who best understands your style of learning and tailors the experience to your needs. I look forward to working with you.

I am a graduate of Harvard college. I received my degree in neuroscience while I also enjoyed having a minor in energy/environmental studies. Following my graduation, I have predominantly spent my time working with students, whether it be college prep, ACT tutoring, or even general academic assistance. When I am teaching, my favorite subjects are those that are STEM or STEM-adjacent. I find that subjects such as math or science aren't always taught best in large settings, so being able to sit down with a student who is struggling in those regards and help them understand the material fully is a really rewarding thing. I am a firm believer in the value of education and think that one-on-one instruction is one of the best modalities there is in terms of learning potential.

I am a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington (IUB), where I earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Psychology, and Neuroscience. Through my experience as a student, undergraduate teaching assistant (peer tutor/AI), and research mentor, I learned that effective and empowering learning is mostly about HOW you study as opposed to HOW MUCH you study. My best teachers always taught me to focus on solidifying the big picture (high yield) concepts first and add in smaller (low yield) details afterwards. This practice of breaking down complex ideas into fundamental first principles made me understand just how powerful knowledge could be and how it could be used to solve the world's hardest problems. This made even the smallest and most tedious of details easy to learn. I applied these same concepts to my students with tremendous success. In the process of learning and teaching, I fell in love with fostering "aha" moments while sharing my most passionate academic interests with others. Ultimately, that's why I'm here at Varsity Tutors! I want to give all of you the best of the teaching experiences that I was given, as well as include the things that I always wish that I had. While I tutor in almost every subject, I'm most passionate about Spanish and the sciences. Spanish gave me an entirely new culture to explore and people to connect to, while science helped me understand just how incredible our universe can be. Consequently, both are near and dear to my heart. Shortly after graduating college in 2019, I started the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Indiana University School of Medicine. I am fortunate to be simultaneously working towards my MD and towards a PhD in Neuroscience. I want to use my career to improve our understanding and management of psychiatric conditions as well as to train the next generation of great thinkers and innovators. Outside of academia, I like to compete in Olympic weightlifting, travel, do outdoorsy and adventurous things, listen and dance to hip hop, and spend time with the homies. I'm constantly discovering new passions, and firmly believe that personal growth is just as important as academic development.

I have a Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology & Immunology from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelors degree in Chemistry & Biology from the University of Arkansas. I'm passionate about teaching, but even more about helping students find the curiosity in learning. I consider myself a life-long learner and hope to inspire others to find the same joy and curiosity. I have experience in teaching at the collegiate/graduate level as well as with middle school/high school students. I spent a lot of time in graduate school learning how to communicate effectively with many audiences and am eager to put those skills to use. My communication and teaching skills are consistently ranked as a strength, and I even have a few awards to show it. My specialty is in advanced-level biomedical sciences (immunology, pathology, microbiology, genetics, etc.), but I tutor high school biology upward, as well as high-school and college-level chemistry (General & Organic). I have a lot of experience in science writing/communication and am happy to offer tutoring on writing (essays, college/graduate school admission, journal articles, etc). Feel free to reach out with any questions! I have a flexible schedule and will get back to you ASAP!
Frequently Asked Questions
Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors across a wide range of medicine-related subjects, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, medical ethics, clinical reasoning, and exam preparation for licensing tests like the USMLE, COMLEX, and specialty board exams. Whether you're preparing for medical school entrance exams, working through coursework in your pre-med program, or studying for professional licensing, tutors can provide personalized instruction tailored to your specific needs.
Medicine tutoring serves students at all levels, from high school students taking introductory biology and chemistry courses needed for pre-med preparation, to undergraduate pre-med students mastering organic chemistry and human physiology, to medical school students preparing for board exams and clinical rotations. Whether you're building foundational knowledge or refining advanced clinical skills, personalized 1-on-1 instruction can be customized to meet you where you are.
In a traditional classroom, instruction is paced for the average student, which can leave some students behind on difficult concepts like organ systems or pharmacological mechanisms. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction allows tutors to identify exactly where gaps exist, slow down on challenging topics, and accelerate through material you've already mastered. This targeted approach means you spend time on what actually needs work, rather than reviewing concepts you already understand—a key advantage for complex material like Medicine.
Yes. Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors experienced in USMLE (Steps 1, 2, and 3), COMLEX, and specialty board exam preparation. Tutors can help you master high-yield concepts, develop effective study strategies, practice clinical reasoning questions, and build confidence before test day. Personalized instruction focuses on your specific weak areas rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Chemistry and biochemistry form the foundation for understanding how drugs work, how your body metabolizes substances, and how disease processes occur at the molecular level. Many students find these subjects challenging because they require both memorization and conceptual understanding. Personalized tutoring helps you build strong fundamentals in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry—ensuring you have the knowledge base needed to excel in pharmacology, pathology, and clinical coursework.
Anatomy and physiology involve learning thousands of structures and their functions, which can feel overwhelming in traditional lectures. Personalized instruction allows tutors to use visual learning strategies, mnemonics, and clinical correlations tailored to how you learn best. Tutors can break down complex organ systems into digestible pieces, help you understand relationships between structures and function, and ensure you develop deep knowledge rather than surface-level memorization.
USMLE preparation timelines vary depending on your starting point, target score, and how frequently you work with a tutor. Most students begin dedicated study 2-3 months before their exam date. Personalized tutoring can accelerate your progress by focusing study time on concepts that are challenging for you specifically, rather than reviewing material you've already mastered. A tutor can help you develop a realistic study timeline and keep you on track to meet your goals.
