About Me

I am a graduate of Rice University (B.A. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, History) and Emory University (MPH). Through my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have tutored students in various subjects in one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. I am fluent in Spanish and English and enjoy teaching and tutoring students in Spanish, History, English, Algebra I and II, Calculus, Biology and Chemistry. I have personal experience and tutor for the following standardized exams: AP, IB, SAT, ACT and GRE.I believe that with some encouragement, the right guidance, and motivation, students can unlock their full academic potential and excel in subjects they previously have struggled in. I work with students to understand the underlying reasons of why some concepts are harder than others and teach to the style (visual, aural, verbal, physical) that best suits the student. I also work with the student (and parents) to develop plans to reach the student's overall academic goals. I believe that learning is not so much about the destination and the end result, but how the journey the student takes. I want my students to not only learn the concepts but get enough confidence in themselves to tackle hard subjects in the future without fear of failure.
