I have spent a majority of my life within an academic environment. Along the way I have acquired a BSBA in Finance and Marketing, a Juris Doctorate, and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management. I have worked with several banks ranging from investment to commercial. I have studied financial compliance. I have passed the Florida Bar Examination.I believe in tailoring academia to a specific student(s) needs, strengths, weaknesses, and requirements. Each subject is different, and no two students are alike. Mastering subject matter can be accomplished in several formats, not simply the most commonly used method. A strong foundation and thorough understanding of basic concepts permits the creation of an efficient pathway to more complicated material that can be easily comprehended at each stage.I have recently stepped away from the private sector in an effort to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I am currently an undergraduate student in the School of Engineering at the University of Virginia (UVA), and an alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST). I plan to major in Computer Science and minor in Economics. The very first time I got involved in tutoring was in middle school where I participated in a program called Homework Helpers. Since then, I have taken up multiple tutoring/teaching opportunities. For the past 3 years, I have been a teaching assistant at Manabadi, a Telugu school, where I help students learn to read, write, and speak Telugu. Recently, I taught a group of elementary and middle school students the basics of Java (a programming language). While I am open to tutoring a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about computer science, math, and economics. Hello!I am a graduate of University of Illinois with a Master's in Entomology (study of insects) and University of Connecticut in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I've been involved in research of how unnamed species are related to one another using DNA sequencing of genes (called systematics) for my undergraduate and graduate career, and hence I am very strong in biology, genetics, microbiology and ecology. My passion in science lies in the implementation of modern DNA sequencing technology to study genes and genomes, especially to advance the field of medicine.I have experience tutoring students through the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates program, and I also served for approximately a year as a tutor for Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL, teaching anatomy and physiology, microbiology, general biology, and algebra.I hope to help students with a wide variety of subjects in science and math, especially biology and genetics!
