"Every child can learn." This is a statement that is written on my heart and etched into my mind; you could say it is my teaching philosophy. Given the right methods, strategies, and positive reinforcement, every child can and WILL learn. I've worked with ages Pre-K to 6th grade, and it still takes my breath away to see the gears turning and the pieces falling into place in children's minds. After graduating from Martin Luther College with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, I quickly went to work in an Early Childhood setting. I've also worked as a Permanent Building Substitute in Pre-K through 5th grade and as an Academic Success Coach in grades K-6th (briefly 6-12th, as well). I currently tutor Elementary subjects, as it is my specialty. My absolute favorite subject to tutor is reading. I love listening to students read and seeing their skills improve. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy walking around our small town, baking sourdough bread, spending time with my husband and son, and reading historical fiction with a hot, frothy cappuccino.
