About Me

I hold a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Indiana University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and English Literature from Purdue University. I am certified to teach secondary education in both Illinois and Indiana. I have six years of teaching experience. Classes taught include Senior AP English, World Literature, Freshmen Literature, American Literature, Poetry, and Drama. I also tutor PSAT/SAT preparation privately. I have always been enthusiastic about English. I learned to read and write very early on, and my insatiable appetite for literature beginning in those formative years has greatly benefited my educational career. I still enjoy reading in my spare time. I prefer difficult texts and approach them in the way that some may approach a logic puzzle or challenging math problem - I strive to make the inaccessible accessible for me. I believe this logic-based approach to literature is effective for my students as well.
