About Me
I am a practicing attorney, so reading and especially clear and concise writing are the tools of my trade, and I've worked on improving these skills for over 25 years. Passing on these skills to others is and has been a source of great satisfaction over the past several years. Since 2011, I have worked with Literacy Instruction For Texas (LIFT) as a volunteer adult literacy teacher, and as a result, I've become very enthusiastic about teaching, mentoring, and tutoring. Apart from literature, my favorite subject has always been history, and particularly U.S. and European history. Real understanding of history is about connections between and among individuals and events, and I strive to illustrate these connections using historical anecdotes and first hand accounts. This helps to bring history to life for my students, and enhances their absorption of names, dates, and historical events. When I'm not practicing law or teaching, I enjoy reading, remodeling houses, collecting historical memorabilia, and looking for great Texas BBQ.
