I have over 10 years of experience in the classroom teaching science-related topics, and 2 years as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. Science topics have included Honors Biology, Biology I, Biology II, Anatomy and Physiology, Forensics, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Physics, Algebra and associated labs. I feel that my perspective on Math and Science is well grounded from 15 years as an engineer with GE, Kawasaki and Zeon Chemicals in several different capacities in manufacturing, design and business development. Working with students to 'get the light bulb to turn on' is very rewarding and keeps me returning to the classroom. One-on-one tutoring has even greater rewards for the student, and is essential to maintaining their educational momentum. I believe that helping a student overcome a roadblock (academic or personal) requires a working relationship and rapport that only comes through a mutual goal of success, and lots of practice.
