I'm Jamie, a 25-year-old high school teacher from Philadelphia. For as long as I can remember, I've loved helping people write standout application essays that reflect their personalities and passions. Preparing for the SSAT means building skills across verbal reasoning, quantitative math, and reading comprehension simultaneously — which can overwhelm students without a clear plan. Yoonseo creates a structured study schedule that rotates between analogy practice, arithmetic and algebra drills, and timed passage work so no section falls behind. Her years teaching both math and English at Kumon make her unusually comfortable covering every part of the exam.

I'm a current student at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a bachelor's in both Neuroscience and Molecular & Cellular Biology. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology, chemistry, psychology, art history, and environmental science on both a high school and Advanced Placement level. Alongside those subjects, I am comfortable teaching middle school and lower level high school math and science, and I offer test preparation for both the SAT and ACT. Outside of academics, I like to train for memory sports, and my current goal is to set a Guinness World Record for memorizing the most decimal places of the irrational number phi. In my previous tutoring experience, I have not only helped teach the subject matter at hand, but I have also guided students on how to improve their study habits in general.

I am a junior at Columbia University double majoring in Financial Engineering and Computer Science. Since high school, I have extensively tutored French students for standardized testing (SAT/ACT). This helped me bridge the obvious language gap whilst breaking down the tests into their fundamentals to better grasp the strategy behind them. I firmly believe in learning-by-doing which is why I encourage all my students to try first before revising their methods and understanding of the subjects. I am fluent in French, Arabic, Hebrew, and English which I believe helps me communicate the very essence of the subject as opposed to a numbered list of tasks which might not help all types of students. In my spare time, I enjoy catching up on the Financial Times, trying my hand at new languages and designing clothing.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, with degrees in physics, astronomy, and studio art. During my time at university I was a member of the Physic Education Research group, conducting studies into the best methods of math and physics pedagogy. Although I am most accomplished in physical science education, my methods are applicable to all kinds of science. I have also studied history and literature extensively as a matter of personal passion. My goals as a tutor reach beyond simply grasping the material at the level which it is presented--I aim to give students the intellectual and emotional tools to grasp underlying principles of any field, and the confidence to believe that this is something they can achieve under their own power. Hello! I am a current junior attending Johns Hopkins University studying a major of Molecular Biology with a focus on Computational Medicine. I've been tutoring for over six yearsstarting with math and Chinese lessons in my communityand have worked as a teacher's assistant for three years at a local elementary school. From private sessions to group instruction, I've discovered how much I love supporting students and helping them believe in their abilities. While having tutor a variety of subjects my most passionate subject are biology and math because they're like puzzleschallenging but extremely rewarding once you find the right approach. I strive to make learning engaging, encouraging, and approachable by using creative examples and adapting to each student's different and unique learning styles. In my spare time, I like to do a variety of odd crafts such as air clay or building bookshelf holders as well as listening to music while reading romance and action books!

I am a graduate from the University of Maryland: Baltimore County, and I received my degree in Geography and Environmental Science, which is fun stuff like geology and hurricane studies. I was a tutor for 2 years at my university, and I got lots of experience with figuring out individual learning styles and different ways to approach education. I've always been most excited about taking and teaching STEM classes. I love being able to teach science and math the most because they have a reputation for being really difficult, and I love breaking down concepts into bite-sized components that are easier to think about. My teaching style focuses heavily on content understanding, instead of just short-term application. I find students are able to excel much more when they're given time to be able to break down content and thoroughly explore how and why it works.

I graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in Biology with Honors in Research and a B.A. in East Asian Studies, along with a minor in Clinical Psychology. I have three years of experience as a Biology II teaching assistant, where I led recitations, ran review sessions, and worked closely with students who needed extra support. I also spent three years as a writing tutor, helping students at all stages of the writing process. One of my favorite parts of tutoring is seeing that "aha" moment when things start to click and students become more confident in their abilities. I can tutor biology, chemistry, English, history, and beginner French or Chinese, as well as standardized test prep for the SAT, ACT, and MCAT. I believe that knowledge should be shared and that teaching future generations is one of the most meaningful ways to make a difference. Every student learns differently, so I focus on being both goal-oriented and flexible. I am constantly adjusting my approach to match each person's learning style during the session. I also like to help students build effective study routines, since I believe strong studying habits are essential to effective learning. Outside of academics, I enjoy cooking, hiking, listening to music, and playing video games.

I am planning now to shift to a more educational career. Last year I worked at a small tutoring center, and I decided to branch out even more and work here.

I'm experienced in and passionate about (especially computer skills, Python, and math) with others. I try to convey the principles and thought process that are the basis of my own understanding of the subject, not just rules to follow or things to memorize. Being able to explain your answer is even more important than simply getting it right! My tutoring style is personalized, with plenty of examples and frequent knowledge checks to ensure I and my student(s) are in sync. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, skiing, woodworking, reading, and vacationing to Lake Superior.

I am a student at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Neuroscience while on the pre-med track. In the future, I hope to become a pediatrician. I have experience with and tutor in a wide range of subjects, and am most passionate about helping students with standardized exams. I know from personal experience that any exam score can be improved with studying and practice, no matter how frustrating or impossible it may seem. As a tutor, my goal is to listen to and address my students' needs as thoroughly as possible. Outside of academics, I love to fold origami, watch Criminal Minds, and hang out with my dog.

I am a graduate of the University of Chicago, with a bachelor's degree in psychology and linguistics. Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Teachers College, Columbia University. In the past, I have worked as a teacher's aide in a public school classroom, a mentor to middle school girls, an instructor and tutor at the literacy education organization 826, and a summer camp counselor. I tutor a diverse range of subjects, and I find that I especially enjoy tutoring language arts, reading, and writing at all levels, from elementary school all the way up to college/grad school test prep. As a tutor, I am committed to helping students reach their full potential as learners. I am a lifelong learner, teacher, and researcher in the field of physics. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Rice University. I have four years of physics teaching experience at the University of Michigan, primarily undergraduate laboratory courses with an emphasis on electromagnetism, circuits, waves, optics, and real-world applications of these and other physical phenomena. Many of these courses, including one I helped design, focused on helping non-STEM students master physics concepts that may be difficult to grasp in a standard classroom setting. I have tutored in a variety of subjects since high school, but most recently I have spent several years helping students understand concepts and succeed in coursework throughout a large variety of college-level physics topics, from basic mechanics to advanced electrodynamics and special relativity.

I am currently studying molecular biology and I hope to work at a pediatric hospital after graduating from medical school. As an undergraduate, I am involved in volunteering organizations, photography, dance companies, and Asian-American political organizations.

I am currently a fourth year medical student in Indianapolis. I completed my undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington, where I majored in Biology and Spanish. I also completed two minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. While at IU, I worked for the Department of Mathematics and Department of Spanish. I also worked as a Peer Tutor for the IU Athletics Department, tutoring in several subjects including statistics, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. I graduated from college with a 4.0, and I entered medical school shortly thereafter. Since coming to medical school, I have excelled in all of my pre-clinical coursework, and I currently rank in the Top 20% of my class. I feel very comfortable and confident tutoring other students in a variety of subjects from math and science to Spanish. I like to think that the same techniques I have used to excel in all phases of my education can be easily adapted to other students and help you achieve your academic goals, just as I have!
