I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.

I am currently a resident physician at Northwestern Hospital.
I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.
Currently a second-year law student at the University of Chicago, Elena tackled the LSAT recently enough to remember exactly where the logic games and conditional reasoning trips people up. She teaches Analytical Reasoning by breaking each game into setup diagrams and inference chains, so students stop staring at the board and start eliminating answers with confidence. Her perfect 1600 SAT speaks to her comfort with high-stakes standardized tests, and her 4.9 rating shows that approach translates to her students.
I am proud to be a part of Varsity Tutors! I am originally from San Antonio, TX; I completed my undergraduate education at Rice University in Houston where I received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Currently, I am in my second year of medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.
I'm a current medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine with undergraduate degrees from Washington and Lee in chemical engineering and anthropology. I have extensive experience in tutoring and teaching since 2010, and am ready to help you with your learning needs! I focus on standardized testing (SAT/ACT) and also tutor in a wide range of math, English, and Spanish classes. In my free time, I like to run, do CrossFit, volunteer, and watch TV!
I am happy to accommodate and work with learners on the spectrum.
I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
I'm Anna! I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.
I am an incoming medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. I graduated from Rice University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Medical Humanities and Business.
I am a graduate of the University of Chicago, with a bachelor's degree in psychology and linguistics. Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Teachers College, Columbia University. In the past, I have worked as a teacher's aide in a public school classroom, a mentor to middle school girls, an instructor and tutor at the literacy education organization 826, and a summer camp counselor. I tutor a diverse range of subjects, and I find that I especially enjoy tutoring language arts, reading, and writing at all levels, from elementary school all the way up to college/grad school test prep. As a tutor, I am committed to helping students reach their full potential as learners. Throughout my years as an educator, I have seen firsthand the remarkable academic growth that can occur when tutors provide students with the individualized support that they need. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, journaling, and learning about other languages and cultures.
I am currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. I have always helped out my fellow students with schoolwork, and I have tutored in the National Honor Society for three years. My tutoring strengths include my abilities to stay calm, be patient, and offer different perspectives on the learning process. I do not just help my students learn the material, but I also teach them how to learn it. I tutor math and test prep courses. Outside of school and tutoring, I play the piano. I have played classical piano for 13 years and jazz piano for 7.

Frequently Asked Questions
Score improvement depends on your starting point and study commitment, but students typically see meaningful gains of 5-10 points or more when working with a tutor who identifies their specific weak areas. Many students struggle with pacing and question format recognition—issues that personalized instruction addresses directly. A tutor can help you understand not just what the right answer is, but why the wrong answers are traps, which is key to consistent improvement.
Your first session focuses on assessment and strategy planning. A tutor will review your diagnostic test results (or administer one if you haven't taken a practice test), identify which sections—logical reasoning, reading comprehension, or analytical reasoning—need the most work, and discuss your target score and law school timeline. This foundation helps create a personalized study plan that matches your pace and learning style.
Timing is one of the most common LSAT challenges because the test requires both accuracy and speed. Tutors teach section-specific pacing strategies—like which questions to tackle first, when to skip and return, and how to avoid time traps. With practice and feedback on timed sections, you'll develop the rhythm needed to work through all questions without rushing or running out of time.
Logical reasoning questions test your ability to identify arguments, spot flaws, and make inferences—skills that require both conceptual understanding and pattern recognition. Many students miss questions because they don't recognize question types or understand what the test is really asking. A tutor breaks down argument structures, teaches you to spot common logical fallacies, and helps you develop a systematic approach to each question type.
Reading comprehension challenges often stem from either reading speed, comprehension depth, or question interpretation—not from your actual reading ability. Tutors teach active reading strategies, help you identify passage structure and author intent, and show you how questions are designed to test specific skills. With guided practice, you'll learn to read efficiently while retaining the details needed to answer questions accurately.
Most students benefit from taking 20-30 full practice tests leading up to test day, starting early in your prep timeline. Tutors use practice tests strategically—analyzing your performance to identify patterns in mistakes, timing issues, and content gaps rather than just reviewing answers. This diagnostic approach ensures your study time targets real weaknesses, not areas where you're already strong.
Test anxiety often peaks when you feel unprepared or unsure of your approach—both things personalized tutoring directly addresses. By building confidence through targeted practice, learning proven test-taking strategies, and taking full-length practice tests under timed conditions, you'll feel more in control on test day. Tutors also help you develop mental strategies for staying calm when you encounter difficult questions.
Look for tutors with strong LSAT scores, law school experience, and proven track records helping students improve. Ideally, they should be familiar with current LSAT formats, understand how law schools evaluate scores, and be able to explain not just answers but the reasoning behind question design. Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who meet these standards and can adapt their teaching to your specific learning style.
