I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Criminology. Currently, I am working as an Environmental Chemist which I very much enjoy. However, I am also passionate about helping students who struggle with their studies or who just need a little bit of help to reach their full potential in academia. While I tutor various subjects, my most favorite are Chemistry and Study Skills and Organization. I like to know what methods are working for my students before we correct or implement new study habits. I am determined to help students reach their goals because everyone deserves the opportunity to do well in their studies.

I hold a B.A. in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology from the University of North Texas and a Masters of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas - Health Science Center. During my time as an undergrad at UNT, I have worked with the local school programs as a tutor for their high school students in grades 9th-12th in Biology and Chemistry as well as being a mentor to my students and helping them with their journey to college. I tutor a broad range of science subjects but I am most passionate about Biochemistry and Biology. During my time on the Varisty platform, I have taught Biochemistry and Biology at undergraduate and graduate levels. I love and enjoy helping my students understand the wonderful world of science and making the learning experience an enjoyable one for them. As a visual and hands-on learner, I am passionate about using different teaching methods and styles with my students. Through my time as a student, the tips and tricks that I've picked up when learning science materials are ones that I pass on to my students to help them grow in their academics.

My reason for teaching is simple: to propel those around me to achieve their maximum potential. My life experiences has taught me that academic success not only comes from the self but also from the support received by others. The best academic support one can have is a person who is willing to be there to help you grow and learn. I want to be that person for all of my students and I strive to be that person every day. Allow me to be the support, tutor, and mentor your child deserves.

I am a Freshman of the Class of 2024 in the University of Texas at Dallas; my major is Computer Science. Back when I was in high school in Vietnam, which is a long time ago (at least 5 years), I stood out amongst my friends with the ability to perform really well in science subjects like Math, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I always love learning new things and have a passion for academic stuff. One of my proudest achievements back then was earning the highest score amongst high school seniors in my state in the annual national final exam of 2015, an equivalent to the SAT. Afterwards, I spent nearly 4 years in college as a medical student but had to quit my studying to immigrate to the US. Though I am a little bit old to start college again, I do not really deem this as a disadvantage. In fact, my past experience would be really helpful to guide me through tough times in college. I am so excited and thankful that I have a chance to pursue my passion in one of the best education systems in the world.Colleges are definitely a great place for young people not only in terms of academic achievement but also with regard to socializing, networking, and how we grow up. However, I reckon that not all of us could pursue our goals at our dream college since we have to go through the application process, which still significantly relies on standardized tests score like SAT 1 and SAT 2 to determine the ability to become successful of a student in the future. Not long ago I spent a great amount of time to prepare for the SAT when I was about to apply for US colleges and did very well in the Math section, as well as SAT subject tests like Math II and Chemistry. I also worked with some students to help them with their subject tests, including teaching them new concepts, providing materials, and so on.I realize that every student has a different story; they pursue different goals due to their distinctions of ability, mindset, ... What I always want to do is to create an engaging, and fun environment to help them focus in learning rather than see it as a burden. In order to do that, giving constructive criticisms when needed is a must-need. Also, I love to encourage my students to have their own solution first for a new or difficult problem and value creativity and flexibility. You will not have to learn every formula in my class; rather, I will help you know how they are constructed, in other words, how people come up with a certain mathematic relations, so that even if you forgot something during your exam, you could still easily formulate or recall it.

Hi! I am a current undergraduate studying both neuroscience and history! I have a passion for teaching and my biggest goal for my students is to walk away feeling confident about the subject material covered in the session. I aim to create an environment that fosters trust and comfort so students are never afraid to ask questions or tell me that they're completely lost and need me to reexplain. I also make really nerdy puns and provide funny stories to help create connections with subject material and make for a fun session!

I attended Texas A&M University-Commerce. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Science. When I was in college, I worked with students that struggled with Biology and Spanish classes. I love tutoring both of these areas because they are a passion of mine. My teaching philosophy is to be patient with the student and take things slow.
