There are classes that are necessary to graduate. Yet these classes are seen as haunted houses because of the eeriness feeling that it brings to people. That eeriness comes from giving a speech in front of a class and a teacher who is watching your every move waiting for a moment to give or take away points. Speeches have always brought people together by everyone sharing a sense of fear and dread to give a presentation despite what the subject is. Yet presenting in front of people gives students skills that are needed everywhere. Being shy towards people when presenting shows that there is no confidence in their work which brings doubt amongst others on whether or not their presentation is factual or not. Despite being nervous when giving a presentation there must be confidence to ensure others that the presentation is well done and a good awareness of what is going on in their class as well. Confidence isn't the only key to success though as speeches help you with being prepared. Being prepared before doing a speech gives skills that one may not think they need but it is useful later on to stop procrastination. Public speaking has helped me in ways to develop my way of gaining interviews, being top 5% in my class, volunteering, and exceeding expectations that others have set up for me.
