Aspiring to better myself in my education by Skye - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

For the upcoming year as a fourth-year undergraduate, I have many aspirations that I want to accomplish that are reflected as hopeful changes compared to the past years I was enrolled in my college. To start, one of my first aspirations are to generally keep track of what classes I need to take to graduate. Why this is one of my goals is since I regret being stubborn in my first to second year of college in thinking I would be fine picking my classes in my listed registration day by myself without any advice from others. However, those choices have made me result to having to take a extra semester after my expected semester to graduate, that being the spring 2026 semester. To aim to accomplish my goal of making sure which classes to enroll in, I plan to meet with my advisor in my major to help me figure out which classes are best of my interest to take and check every month or so which classes would be available on my student portal website of my college next semester. And, what motivates me with achieivng my first aspiration is to just hopefully graduate as soon as possible and not take any more extra semesters such as I currently am planning to.

Next, my second aspiration would be for me to be less stressed in my courses I am taking this fall semester in my college and in future semesters I will be planning to take as well. This is reflected especially from my past semester this year as I tried to challenge myself to push through six classes and also sixteen units in my schedule. However, I would be loaded with work almost everyday and have barely any free time to relax without having to worry about completing one assignment after the next from taking studio art classes dedicated to my major as same with the name as a studio art major in my college plus taking a writing intensive class. Even so, I would have to miss family events and even going out to eat with my family to complete my work on time. I would also connect my first aspiration of keeping track of the classes I need to take to graduate with my second aspiration by hoping to achieve to select classes that have less of a workload to endure with. Additionally, while also for the courses to be what is required for myself to graduate by the next year. Plus, what motivates me achive my second aspiration to accomplish being less stressed in my courses is to just have time for myself to relax, enjoy my hobbies, and to not have to worry all the time on my school work dragging me down and still hang out with my family to be there for them.

Lastly, my third aspiration would be for myself to be financially stable for the whole school year and with the extra semester I'll take. I would say this aspiration would be the most important I wish to achieve in general since I would be fond to have funds to support my education in buying supplies and of course paying off tuition. In addition, I would love to have enough finances to pay off living costs such as buying food and drinks for myself, new clothes, and other stuff for my hobbies which I will try to spend on. To add also, I acknowledge being finacially stable to be my third and main aspiration because I do not want to repeat in past semesters where I would be careless in what I spent my money on which would be first on supplies but I would make too many unnecessary purchases on other stuff I would regret later on. Moreover, what would motivate me to achieve my third aspiration is to not be drowning in low funds to work through the semesters and to not let myself to drown in debt as well.
