Looking into the future can be a terrifying thing for millions of people but looking forward is the only way to plan and improve. One of the biggest parts of our America Society that needs a close eye put upon it and have a plan for the next years is our Education and Education system. I think one element of our education system that I would love to see changed in the next 10 years is a stronger focus on personalized learning along with getting students more involved and invested in their learning.
A shift in our education system to make learning for all students more personalized would help further the public education system strongly. Tailoring teaching styles to each student is strongly more achievable with new technology such as artificial intelligence. Being able to personalize learning to all students not only improves the education they are receiving but also improves engagement. More engaged students will lead to overall better learners within our schools and the country as a whole. Each student has their own quirks when it comes to how they best learn and understand so being able to achieve all of these needs provides an equal opportunity for all students to gain an equal opportunity education.
Once learning styles have become more personalized, getting students more invested in their learning would become a natural step to follow. If students are finding learning interesting and they are understanding what they are being taught they are more likely to want to further that. Getting students invested in learning will lead to strong improvements throughout society and every student's personal journey. A student that is focused on gaining knowledge is less likely to get involved in things that could possibly pull them away from this education. American society would also see an increase in high school and college graduation rates.
These two changes in our education system could have massive benefits if implemented throughout the next 10 years. Not only would this lead to smarter and more educated students coming out of high schools but it could also improve our American society as a whole.
