As I begin my senior year at Houston Christian University, my main aspiration is simple yet deeply meaningful: to graduate. This milestone is more than just receiving a degree in kinesiology, it is the bridge to my next chapter, where I will pursue my dream of attending occupational therapy school at Texas Woman’s University. Every class, assignment, and project this year is a step toward that goal, and I am determined to approach everything with focus. Graduating this year is more than checking a box, it represents years of growth and resilience.
What motivates me the most is the future I envision for myself. I see myself working as a pediatric occupational therapist, helping children with disabilities gain independence and confidence. I imagine sitting across from a child who once struggled with a basic task then watching their face light up as they accomplish it for the very first time. That image I have in my head of making a lasting difference is what motivates me to push forward. Beyond the professional impact I want to make, I am also motivated by the life I want to provide for my own future children. I aspire to create a home where they feel supported in all aspects of their lives and inspired to follow their own dreams, just like as I am. A fulfilling career in occupational therapy will not only allow me to serve the community, but will also give me the ability to build a secure and abundant life for my family in the future. That balance of service and provision is at the heart of my motivation.
Throughout this school year, I will stay disciplined and focused, manage my time wisely, and seek opportunities that will strengthen my readiness for graduate school. I also want to continue growing spiritually, leaning on God’s guidance as I go through my final months as an undergraduate student. My faith reminds me that my career will not just be a job, it will be a way to reflect the love of Jesus every day.
By the end of this year, I want to walk across that graduation stage knowing I gave my absolute best and worked my hardest. This moment will mark not the end, but the beginning of a lifetime of service. Graduating will open the door to Texas Woman’s University and beyond that, a future where I can live out my calling.
