Miss Student Body President! by Meghan - December 2025 Scholarship Essay

One day I woke up and turned over to the side. My phone was flashing... It was a notification! I opened my phone swiftly and seen who it was from. It was a notification on my phone telling me I have the opportunity to run for student body president. I was Amazed! I felt so excited. I Immediately responded to the email and filled out my information. It had a lot of requirements!

After looking at the requirements, I was relieved to know for sure that I can fulfill them. Some of the requirements where GPA, Classification, Major, Minor, and most importantly a question asking how would I positively impact my school. Some of the quicker things that I answered right away was 3.0, Freshmen, and Computer Science. The other question was harder to answer because there was so many ways to answer that question.

I already am currently positively impacting my school. I am in a club called the Privateer Press that provides news to the students of the University of New Orleans. The club I am currently in helps notify students more about things around campus. I love the club because I choose to spend my time connecting to my community. I feel like this club gave me opportunities and I really enjoy participating in it. I love spreading news around my community to help the school because currently the University of New Orleans is going through a funding issue, so many students more understanding and notified of the situation can help them in distress, knowing why they're refund check hasn't came yet, and creating better ways to fix the school!
