My Two Goals by Maya - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

I have two goals for the upcoming school year. I want to have more scholarships under my belt and I want to be more social. I want to participate in more school events in the upcoming year. I only ever really went to my dorm and my friends' dorm , I want to be more social in the upcoming years. There were a lot of events I missed out on in my first year. I was either too nervous or too busy to go. Most of the year I was swamped with work and just didn't have the time for it. For the few events I wanted to go to I ended up getting too anxious and talking myself out of going. Taking full advantage of the events and resources at my school is my first goal for the upcoming year.

Having scholarships would reduce the amount of loans I have to take out for tuition. The relief of winning a scholarship is my motivation. The safety and security a scholarship provides is why I continue to apply despite feeling unmotivated and rejected at times. I would be extremely grateful to receive this scholarship as it would bring me closer to my second goal for the year.
