President by laith - December 2025 Scholarship Essay

If I were running for student body president, the number one way I would hope to positively impact my school is by creating a stronger support system for students—academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that when students feel supported, they perform better, stay more motivated, and feel more connected to their school community. My main goal would be to make sure every student feels like they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.

First, I would focus on building academic support that is easy to access. Many students struggle silently because they don’t know where to go for help or feel embarrassed asking for it. I would work with teachers, counselors, and student leaders to create more peer-study groups, after-school tutoring options, and quiet spaces where students can get help without feeling judged. By making support normal and available to everyone, I believe grades and confidence across the school would improve.

Second, I would work to strengthen school spirit and connection. Students deserve a school environment where they feel welcome and included. I would plan simple but meaningful activities—like spirit days, lunchtime events, and student-led clubs—that bring people together. When students feel like they belong, school becomes a place they look forward to rather than just a place they have to be.

Finally, I would focus on improving communication between students and the school leadership. Many students feel unheard, and their ideas often go unnoticed. I would set up monthly student feedback forms, open meetings, and suggestion boxes so everyone has a voice. Listening to students is one of the most powerful ways to create real change because it ensures the decisions made reflect what the school truly needs.

In the end, my goal as student body president would be simple: make school a place where students feel supported, connected, and heard. When we lift each other up, the entire school becomes stronger. By creating a community where every student has the chance to succeed, I believe we can make our school a better place for everyone—now and for future students to come.
