My Goals and Achievements for the Future by Kalen - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

My name is Kalen Watts, and my goals in life are built on a strong foundation of family, faith, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the world. Growing up, I’ve always been inspired by the strength and sacrifices of my loved ones, and one of my biggest dreams is to provide for my family in ways they’ve never experienced before. I want to give back to them for everything they’ve poured into me whether it’s emotional support, guidance, or love. My goal is to create a life where they no longer have to worry, and I can be the one to carry the weight, proudly and with purpose.
Professionally, I aspire to become either a radiologist or an OBGYN. These careers represent more than just titles they symbolize the kind of service and care I want to offer the world. I’m passionate about healthcare because it allows me to combine science with compassion, and be part of moments that truly matter in people’s lives. Whether it’s helping diagnose a patient early to save their life, or supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth, I want to be someone others can trust and depend on. I want to stand in those rooms and know that I’ve made a difference.
Another one of my goals is to achieve financial success not for selfish gain, but to build generational wealth. I want to break cycles and create opportunities for myself and those who come after me. I want to be in a position to give, to invest in others’ dreams, and to show people from similar backgrounds that anything is possible with hard work and faith.
But above all, staying spiritual and keeping God first is what matters most to me. I truly believe that everything I do must be led by God’s will. My relationship with Him keeps me grounded and reminds me of who I am and why I’m here. No matter how far I go, I never want to lose that connection or forget the importance of walking in purpose and truth.
Lastly, I just want to be happy. Not just surface-level happiness, but the deep kind that comes from living a life you’re proud of filled with love, balance, and peace. This scholarship would not only help me get closer to my educational and career goals, but also support the life I’m working so hard to build. I’m ready to put in the work, stay faithful, and keep pushing forward because I know my purpose is greater than any obstacle I’ll ever face.
