A Very Analytical Essay by Jayden - August 2026 Scholarship Essay
When I was middle school, I would often get criticized by my teachers for not being detail-oriented on my assignments, which led to less than ideal marks on my assignments. This continued until I decided to take the criticism of my middle school teachers more seriously as I entered junior high school. Specifically, I adopted the criticism in the form of very analytical thinking. Always looking at a poor grade from an assignment and thinking, “ Where did I go wrong in my thinking and how can I prevent this in the future”.
This form of thinking helped me a lot during junior high and high school as it helped me better understand my mistakes and prevented any of the same mistakes that I made on past assignments for the most part. Because of my newfound awareness of my mistakes, my grades improved drastically.
Because this form of thinking has proven to be successful for me academically, I decided to use it for my hobbies and extracurriculars, such as band and playing video games to much success as I did improve my performance in both and at the same time, enjoyed them even more than before.
As I join any new extracurriculars, pick up more hobbies, or learn about a certain subject in class, my analytical thinking skills will help me learn what I am wrong and at the same time, improve at them and appreciate them a bit more than what I thought would be possible.
