A bond day at school by Fatimah - June 2026 Scholarship Essay

If I could design a project to improve my school, I would create a weekly day where everyone comes together in one place to play games, have fun, and just enjoy being part of the same community. School can get stressful, and sometimes it feels like everyone is rushing from class to class without really connecting. A day like this would give us a chance to slow down, laugh, and spend time with people we might not normally talk to.

On this day, the whole school would gather for different activities—team games, friendly competitions, and simple challenges where anyone can join in. It wouldn’t matter if someone is athletic, shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between. The point would be to make sure everyone feels included. There could be small prizes, group games, and stations where people can try new things just for fun. It’s less about winning and more about creating moments that make school feel exciting.

A weekly gathering like this would help students get to know each other better. When you’re playing games or working together, it’s easier to talk and make new friends. Teachers and students would also get to interact in a more relaxed way, which can make the school feel more welcoming. Plus, having something fun to look forward to each week can make a big difference in how people feel about coming to school.

In the end, this project would help build a stronger, happier school community. It would bring people together, boost school spirit, and remind us that school isn’t only about homework and tests. It’s also a place where we grow, connect, and create memories. A weekly fun day would make school feel like a place where everyone belongs.
