The Difference In Details by Chelsea - January 2026 Scholarship Essay
As kids, it was almost like every day in class that we were coloring. Some kids colored outside the lines, and others drew just their family along with their pets. While I was putting together a whole picture, I drew my family with a house on a hill, the sun in the corner, the clouds, lines that I drew as grass, trees, the blue sky, and even a little flower in the background. Therefore, people have told me that I have a talent for art because of the amount of detail and effort that I put into my drawing, but I wanted to be something more than an artist. So, I thought of other ways to use this artistic side of me. Therefore, I started to gain hobbies, such as decorating houses, watching HGTV (a cable channel that involves home decor and remodeling), and even riding around neighborhoods to look at the beauty of houses, wishing to look inside to get a glimpse of all the details.
Soon, my interest in becoming an Interior Designer began to flourish. Of course, accomplishing my goal of wanting to be more than an artist, doing something that I love with using my creative and artistic side by decorating and adding small finishing touches to houses. Using my attention to detail to not only create a house, but a home with a meaning. Transforming places and creating them to withstand. Decorating and designing a warm, comfortable environment for my clients.
