What My Goals Are by Brayden - September 2025 Scholarship Essay

I plan to study political science at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. I will use this political science degree to pursue my career of being a political commentator on various news channels. What motivated me to pursue political science was the fact that the younger generation is politically aware it's just that most of their knowledge is shrouded in false information. Posting informational blogs, getting involved with certain news programs, and allocating a plethora of resources will certainly help me achieve this goal of mine. If I obtain the scholarship, I will be able to not only keep attending the university but also establish more connections that will help me get into the political commentating world. Being able to pursue a career that is not only financially stable but in a field of work I very much enjoy would be beneficial to me. To continue studying at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is not only a benefit but an absolute privilege. This scholarship will provide me not only the funds but the means to continue studying at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. While I do have support for both of my parents’ support can only take you so far and sometimes, we need to expand our horizons to further guarantee my security for education. Obtaining this higher level of education will grant me the ability to pursue my career as a political commentator. My sophomore year is shaping to be challenging yet manageable, similar to freshman year, as I expect my grades to more or less reflect my current grades. However, I can only pursue Political Science and Communications if I secure the necessary funds so that I may continue my residence and education at UMass Dartmouth. I see myself on the screens across Massachusetts in the future doing my best to educate the new generations on the complex world of politics.
