Building a Community of Faith and Encouragement by Ana - June 2026 Scholarship Essay

If I could design a project to improve my school I would create a “Faith & Encouragement Community”—a welcoming space where students can feel seen, heard, and supported. This project would include a prayer locker where students could submit prayer requests anonymously, inspirational walls featuring Bible verses and uplifting messages, and a designated time each week for students to gather, reflect, and grow in their faith.

The goal of this project would be to help students navigate the challenges of school and life while building a stronger relationship with God. Many students face stress, anxiety, loneliness, or personal struggles that others may never see. A safe and encouraging environment would remind them that they are not alone and that there are people willing to listen, pray, and support them.

In addition to prayer and fellowship, the center would offer opportunities for students to discuss how biblical principles can be applied to everyday life. Through conversations, devotionals, and service projects, students could learn how to become better friends, leaders, and members of their community. The focus would not only be on spiritual growth but also on personal growth, encouraging students to become the best versions of themselves.

I believe this project would make a meaningful difference because it would foster kindness, connection, and purpose. By creating a place where students can grow in their faith, share their struggles, and encourage one another, we can build a stronger school community centered on compassion, hope, and the love of Christ.
