Technology has completely reshaped my classroom experience. Not only have I learned more, I have also had an immense shift in how I feel about learning. Technology has given me the tools to feel connected to my learning. Now that I do not have to carry heavy books and materials, I have no limits in what I can explore.

There is something so moving about watching a lesson truly come to life. Complex processes and procedures are shown to me in simple simulations and videos. Virtual field-trips allow me to immerse myself in ancient history and culture. These experiences allow me to transcend the memorization of a lesson technology-dependent classroom. The gifts given to me by technology allow my learning to feel real, and allow me to soar beyond any limits.

Technology has also helped me to gain independence in the way I learn. Digital tools help me to learn at my own pace. If I need extra time on a topic, having the tools to do so is incredibly helpful for my academic career. There are videos, tutorials and practice sites just waiting for me. I can go beyond the lesson to connect even deeper with the topics. Having the ability to be flexible in what I need for my learning has allowed me to take control of my education, not let it control me.

In the end, technology has not only changed how I learn. It has impacted how I see learning. My education has become more creative, more connected, and more hopeful. I am constantly reminded that knowledge is not limited by an eight hour school day. There is no limit to what I can discover.
