Senior Year The End of A New Beginning by Abigail - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

As crazy as it seems my senior year has officially hit, with this in mind there are many things I want to do and accomplish before I become an adult and go to college. Everyone has different goals that come to mind when the school year is about to begin, some are serious, some are more laid back, it all just depends on the person. For me, some of the many aspirations I have for the upcoming school year are earning my CNA in my school's senior nursing program, graduating from high school, and enjoying the most out of my senior year. These are just some of the many things I want to accomplish this school year before I go off in the real world.
The very first thing I have as a goal to accomplish is becoming a certified nursing assistant. At the end of junior year there was an application sent out to apply for a class to take senior year. Ever since freshman year I have known about this class and knew I wanted to be in it. After countless hours, hard work, and many prayers the time came to apply and I did. In May 2025 I found out I made it into the CNA program and was beyond excited. This class will allow me to learn more about the nursing profession and allow me to take further steps into becoming a nurse for my career. My main goal in this program is to grow in the medical field and walk out of senior year one step closer to becoming a nurse. My plan to achieve this goal is to study as much as possible, pay attention to anything and everything, but also ask questions if I am feeling lost. I am wanting to take this opportunity to be in this program to its fullest extent so I am able to walk out of high school saying “ I am officially a certified nursing assistant”. I plan on strengthening my study habits, further engaging in my community, and building confidence in the things I do. Becoming a certified nursing assistant and efficiently doing it is just one of the many aspirations I have for senior year.
The next goal for senior year is to graduate from high school. Now at first this may seem silly but seeing the hard work has paid off when they call my name and I walk across that stage is a huge goal and accomplishment for me. Ever since intermediate school I have been working my butt off taking honors classes and AP classes. Anything I could do to have a successful high school experience and further. My plan to accomplish this goal is to do exactly what I have been doing my whole 12 years of schooling is to work hard and do everything at 100%  so I can say I did it. Graduating from high school is a huge accomplishment and while it is just one of the many milestones I will hit in my life it is a major one. I have been working towards this goal my entire life and I don't plan on senior year changing that one bit. I want to not only work hard this school year but accomplish anything I have set to mind while I am at it. Doing this will allow me to know I did everything I want by senior year and not feeling doubtful.
My final aspiration for this school year is to enjoy the most out of my senior year. To me other than what could be seen as the “more serious aspirations” this is my biggest goal this school year. When saying this I mean doing something I wouldn't usually do, dress up for homecoming, play a silly senior game, and just not feel like I didn't take the most out of my final year of high school. While I cant believe senior year is actually here it is and that means I only have so much more time at West Nassau with the same kids. At first I didn't see enjoying senior year  as an aspiration but after seeing how fast senior year came and the things I have been missing out on I want to make sure I don't miss out on anything my senior year. I want to go above and beyond and make sure I don't take the little things for granted because come May 2026 I will officially be an alumni of West Nassau High School.
My three main aspirations for the school year 2025-2026 is earning my CNA in my school's senior nursing program, graduating from high school, and enjoying the most out of my senior year. These are just some of the many things I want to accomplish this school year before I am an official alumni. The biggest thing I want to remember is senior year of high school only comes around once.
