How can a Statistics tutor help you?

Statistical analysis offers us the essential tools and basic concepts in quantitative reasoning that allows us to find coherent information from what seems like random data. Researchers in fields ranging from medicine and nature studies to marketing and public policy rely on statistics to make vital decisions regarding the futures of their companies, their countries, and our world.

However, some students struggle with the basic concepts of statistics. If you are a student who has difficulties grasping these ideas, you may benefit from lessons with a personal tutor. The educational directors at Varsity Tutors may connect you with tutors in Orlando, FL, who are skilled at helping students prepare for statistics. The student and I completed the Unit 2 exam review, which is similar to an upcoming test the student will take. Topics included calculating the MSE, MSG, and F-statistic given a data set, as well as making analyses using these values in addition to p-values. The student analyzed and evaluated the data contained in ANOVA tables. The student is quicker at making correct inferences given various data values and has improved in his ability to select and use the correct formula when asked to calculate a value.

The student and I focused on Chapters 3 and 4 during this section which pertain to probability as well as continuous and discrete random variables. We completed a practice problem from each section in the book that we reviewed. He is capable of mapping out a problem and using the proper equations to solve. I wanted him to really practice solving problems on his own during this session. Over our past three meetings, I can tell that he has improved his understanding of statistics by a great amount. He does not hesitate to ask questions and the questions he asks prove to me that he is benefiting from what we are reviewing during the sessions.
