I am currently enrolled in a Masters of Education program at the University of Arizona. I am looking to use my experience from the past 16 years to enact broader change within Arizona's educational system. During my time in the classroom, I have worked with multiple age groups, in various settings. I began as a P.E.Teacher in Chinle, in northern Arizona. I loved working with K-3 students at Chinle Primary School, and went through Prescott College's Adult Degree Program to become certified to teach K-8 in the state of Arizona. My future wife and I moved to Tucson and I taught for TUSD as an 8th grade math/art teacher, as a 3rd, then 4th, then 5th grade classroom teacher. Later I moved to a private school and was a 5th grade teacher at Green Fields and a 4th-6th grade collaborator at the IDEA School.I enjoy being part of the learning process. Even when I was an 18 year old undergraduate at the UofA searching for a suitable major, I worked part-time as a Water Safety Instructor for the City of Tucson and taught people how to swim. Helping someone learn something new is great! I do not pretend to know everything, but I sure can find a way to learn what I need and I try to take this attitude into my work with students. Everyone is a unique learner and it is my job to help find the best way for students to access skills/subjects that they are required to. I strive to develop a personal relationship with those that I work with to help me to get to know their learning style.Much of my experience as a teacher is in the elementary classroom, however I have been an interscholastics coach for HS students. I feel as though I can help a broad range of ages as a tutor. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your student!

I am a career elementary school teachers with over 25 years experience in grades K-6. I received my BS in Elementary Education from the University of Denver and my MA ED from Lesley College. In addition to teaching in multiple states within the United States, I spent 18 years teaching internationally. I feel that these experiences cultivated a great enthusiasm for learning. Exploring many cultures, ethnicities and unique individuals provides me with a broad foundation which I feel strengthens my ability to work with my students. My enthusiasm and positive attitude are characteristics consistently mentioned by my administrators as well as peers. My teaching approach is very student centered and hands on. I am a confident communicator and value the opportunity to work closely with the family as well as the classroom teacher if applicable. When I am not working as an educator I am usually involved with family. My four children, all in college or graduated, accompanied us during our years overseas and they are a fine testimony for our family values and love of education. They know to find me outdoors exercising, in a bookstore or library or in the kitchen if they are in need of support.

I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering. A little over 10 years ago, I acquired my first job as a teacher and fell in love with it. I have experience in front of a class, but one-on- one settings help bring out the best of my teaching abilities. I have tutored multiple students in different subjects such as Algebra, English and Spanish, but my passion is mathematics, since I find it very interesting how there are many paths you can reach the same resolution to a problem. I believe Math is for everyone, as long you have the will and patience to practice it. I was born and raised in Mexico, so Spanish is one of my strong suits as well. I find fulfillment in showing every student I tutor that anyone can excel in any subject if they put in the effort, dedication and enthusiasm into it. I enjoy teaching students at all levels. I think the most important thing about tutoring is finding the specific learning style that best fits each individual. Let me help you discover what works for you!

I have found that finance is not a subject that many students have had much exposure to in the past. I chose a career in finance because I find it to be a very important, challenging and rewarding occupation. I have worked in the investment management and financial planning industry for 25 years. I currently work for a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm that handles complex client relationships. I have also been an adjunct university finance professor for 9 years that taught master's and undergraduate finance classes. I received my MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. I received my bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in psychology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. I do hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. I have also been a grader of the level III CFA exam many times. I also am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). I do enjoy tutoring investment management, corporate finance and financial planning. I believe finance is an art form that may not always have one answer. My style is one of calmness and patience with students. I may not always have the answer right away but will get it. I do also believe the basics are completely understood before we move on to more complex topics.

I am a 2014 graduate from The University of Arizona with a Ph.D. in Special Education with a focus on Deafness and a minor in Family Studies and Human Development. I graduated with a Master's degree in Deaf Education in 2004 from The University of Arizona and earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of California at San Diego and at The University of Toulouse Le Mirail in the south of France in 1998. I am a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and have taught at a center school for the deaf and in the public school setting as a classroom teacher and as an itinerant teacher. I completed a doctoral student externship at The University of Kansas in 2012 and my research focus is on the development of self-determination for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. I have supervised graduate and undergraduate students at The University of Arizona and have tutored students in various subjects but really enjoy the Social Sciences and Linguistics areas. My tutoring philosophy evolved from my years of teaching experience. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding teaching and learning, I find that my mission as a tutor is threefold: to promote positive learning, to spark learner enthusiasm for learning, to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning. I play the piano and the flute and am trying to master the harmonica. I am a long distance runner and love running. I am a big NFL fan and am forever a Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2002 with a B.S. in Chemistry along with minors in math and physics. I currently work as a middle school math teacher, but have experience teaching students from first grade up through eighth grade. I have also taught elementary science first through fourth grade and have been formally teaching for five years. I am passionate about the subjects of math and science. I believe that a student's ability to learn should be the skill that is honed above all others and encourage the use of learning from one's mistakes to improve academically. My spare time is typically taken up with playing soccer, home improvement projects, crossword puzzles, and reading.
