The student had a test today and did not have homework. We went back and did some review. We worked on key algebra concepts that he will encounter the rest of his math career.
The student and I worked more on graphing and understanding domain and range. The student did amazing with this concept and seemed to have mastered it. Keeping this fresh in his mind should be easy, considering his understanding.

We covered symmetry, reflections across the origin and the line y=x. We also went over functions within functions and how to solve those. We also covered quadratic, linear, and exponential functions and how those are solved and made. Overall it was a very good session with lots of material covered.

The student had math homework. He didn't have any trouble doing it. He put equations in standard form and then plotted them on a graph. He also had Biology homework to finish on DNA replication. He did this quite easily. We then started working on his NSL government. We worked through about half of the questions. We will work on it again tomorrow.

Concepts: Newton's laws - 1, 2, and 3; friction; inclined planes; rotational motion; gravitational force; centripetal acceleration; Kepler's laws of gravitation; and conceptual problems. Study skills: Think of what equations might be related and write them down. See if the variables in the equation match up with the knowns given in the problem. The student is a great student. She is very bright.

The student and I worked on her new chapter, which she had down really well. It was focused on different scenarios to use the Pythagorean theorem. We will prepare next week for her test and then the following week for the semester exam. She has an A currently in the class!

The student is working on the preterite in her classes, so after greeting each other and talking about the weather in Spanish, we worked on the preterite. We did fill-in-the-blank activities with follow up questions about the preterite. She did very well! I introduced her to the irregular forms of estar, dar, tener, and hacer in the preterite tense. We also did a conversation at the end. Her Spanish is coming along very well. I encouraged her to find some Spanish in her everyday life.
