About Me

I believe that information should be accessible to all people. We live in an interesting but complicated world and I like to be the translator between difficult information and those who want the information. I actually won second place in a Lecture Competition where we were judged on how well we were able to breakdown difficult engineering projects and explain them to non-engineering students and professionals. It was at this point that I learned I loved the process! I have worked as an engineer and also as a college professor (10 yrs.)Before working, I got both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) I also took Doctorate Level courses in Educational LeadershipI tutor most science and math course from Chemistry to Calculus to Physics. I love Geometry, Algebra, and Chemistry! I think these courses are the building blocks for all the more complicated courses. And I believe if you can understand these courses, you can build up to understand most everything. For me, learning this information has helped me simply this complicated world and makes everyday life easier for my brain to take in. My teaching philosophy is pretty simple. Everyone can connect to the information, but it is my job to figure out how. This is why I love math and science...it surrounds us everyday! Outside of teaching and/or taking courses, I love to visit family, hike, and travel as much as possible.
