About Me

"Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow." - Mary Tyler MooreI am a proud graduate of the University of Michigan where I received a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. In addition, I graduated from Texas Women's University with a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. In the time between those two degrees and afterward, I've worked for Fortune 50 companies as a systems engineer, medical billing director, project manager, and consultant in roles of leadership. My non-work time is spent serving in various volunteer positions, including teaching ESL, to contribute to the diversity and health of my community. Traveling over the world has fueled my interest in languages, culture, history, and even geography. All of these subjects show who we are and who we could be with focus and cooperation. My teaching approach is to create learning materials that meet the individual needs of my students while sharing my insight as a business person and a second language learner. I am considered a patient, approachable, and fun instructor. As I move into this encore career, I'm excited about the adventures in learning I'll have with Varsity students.
