About Me

I graduated from an accelerated BSN program at Texas Tech University. I also have a BS in Zoology from The Ohio State University where I also completed Air Force ROTC. I served 7 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force in charge of air traffic controllers and airfield management personnel. I met my husband while on active duty and after we got engaged, I separated from the Air Force and pursued my passion for nursing. I am excited to share my experience with taking the NCLEX, various study strategies that I learned while in a demanding 12-month accelerated nursing program, and my experience as a graduate nurse in a Level II trauma center. I am a big proponent of understanding the 'why' behind pathophysiology, signs, and symptoms, and nursing interventions. Trying to memorize everything is impossible and will not help you pass the NCLEX, however, if you understand the concept and pathophysiology, you can usually get the right answers and be way more successful.
