About Me

Experienced University Instructor in web and graphic design, usability, and experiential learning. I teach mainly undergraduate students in both online only, blended, and in-person formats. I run an internship program in which teams of 4-5 students work on a technology related project for a nonprofit organization like creating a website or conducting a social media analysis and campaign. This experience builds student confidence to be able to obtain paid internships or entry-level positions upon graduation. My strength as an Instructor/Tutor comes from being able to relate to students. I had experiences in college with coding instructors who were great coders but not great at translating that knowledge into concepts I could break down and understand as a student. I strive to start small and work up to greater complexity because of this. I believe that students learn best and become interested in a topic by not getting frustrated or believing it is too difficult at the beginning. This doesn't interest students in a topic and may turn them off to investigating it further which doesn't serve anyone in the long run.
