Hi! I'm LeAnne. I'm a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Spanish Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Over the last 8 years, I have taught high school and middle school Spanish in the public schools of Denver and metro Detroit. I also lived in Tulum, Mexico where I tutored immersion-based Spanish to tourists and English to the locals with ages ranging from 8-50 years old. I've led professional developments on emotional regulation and breathwork strategies to help educators provide stress-relief and support to students.I'm devoted to building meaningful relationships with my students and instilling the value of learning and helping students to see errors as opportunities. I am a firm proponent of teaching students how to advocate for their own learning needs, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life as lifelong learners. My students and colleagues would describe me as energetic, compassionate, approachable, mindful, and fun! In my spare time, I enjoy teaching yoga/meditation, reading/learning new things, pizza, skiing, and traveling.
