I am an enthusiastic educator with over 15 years of teaching experience including a wide range of Language Arts such as Reading, Reading Comprehension, Writing, English, English as a Second Language. (ESL) for children and adults I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University and am TESOL certified. My passion is teaching adults who have immigrated to this country and want to improve their English in their business and daily lives. With children, I teach English often for their first experience, helping them grow to be fluent speakers. My goal is to create a relaxed environment that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of the students. I utilize interesting and interactive curricula, incorporating continuous conversation and speaking throughout the lesson.
I am a mother and a grandmother with a varied career in education and the business world, as a marketing and sales professional in the software industry. I love books and I play tennis every chance I get! As an ESL and Language Arts teacher, I hope to inspire my students to love learning as I have experienced the joy of exchanging cultural backgrounds. I have learned as much as I have taught.
