I have always loved school and learning. As a younger student, I felt like I was awful at math and reading didn't come easily to me. I had a wonderful teacher and tutor who helped me grow into my full potential, and it turned out I was actually great at math and reading, it was my lack of confidence that held me back.
As a tutor, my goal is to help my students grow more confident in their skills and knowledge. I do this by guiding students to the correct answers on problems rather than telling them what to do or what the answer is right away. I believe that students learn best when the teacher is a guide and thus my teaching philosophy relies on guiding the students in the right direction by asking them questions that explore the content.
I am currently working towards my bachelor's in educational studies with the end goal of becoming a teacher. I am passionate about teaching and my favorite subjects to tutor are English and mathematics of any level.
Outside of tutoring I enjoy reading, knitting, movement, and spending time with friends.
