About Me

Holding First Class Honors Degrees in Mathematical Sciences and Psychology from Newcastle University, I became a full-time Private Mathematics Coach over ten years ago, tutoring students to undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have worked internationally with students in New York, London, Moscow, Paris, Montreal, Perth, Riyadh, Sofia, Florida and the West Indies. Areas of expertise include Actuarial Science, Finance, Real Estate Finance (including Argus Certification), Statistics, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Singapore Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Precalculus, Calculus (AP), Calculus 1, 2 and 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Calculus, Complex Analysis, Discrete Mathematics, Number Theory, Financial Mathematics, Accounting and SAT Math. I can also help you prepare for NY state Regents, ASVAB, PSAT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, SHSAT, ISEE, GRE, SAT subject tests in Math (both IC and IIC), GED, GRE, GMAT, CLEP, LSAT or Praxis tests. I have experience tutoring students with autism, ADD, ADHD, and other learning problems. In preparation for any of the above math-based tests, I focus on imparting deep-level mathematical understanding, and that can only be taught with individual attention. One of my great pleasures is helping students reach moments of epiphany when the light dawns and perplexity gives way to clarity. Throughout our sessions, I focus on making you think for yourself and develop flexible mastery. Working together, I guide you to the correct solution to difficult test questions, using a Socratic method, leading you step by step in the right direction and without giving you the answers. Tutoring for many years has afforded me the opportunity to go through most of the available material, and I have pinpointed the techniques and strategies that work most effectively on each question type.
