I believe that each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating
atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
What I desire as an educator, is to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by
providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking and invites a sharing of ideas. In
teaching higher education students, the use of multiple disciplines should be implemented such
as computers, video, audio, photographs, books and other current news resources as well as other
technological advances, instead of relying solely on oral and written communication. If all of
these tools are used in the classroom/virtual classroom, the learning environment takes on a
productive, diverse and creative approach where students can work together and use a variety of
resources in their guided pursuit of learning goals and problem-solving activities.
I believe, as do the existentialists in free will, that a person determines his or her own future
and goals. The realists' philosophy lies in that whatever we believe now is only an
approximation of reality and that every new observation brings us closer to understanding reality.
A teacher is responsible for all the consequences of their actions, and this educational role is to
assist students in their personal journey.
To self-discovery is having the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and
challenging to one's life and interests. Developing a curriculum around student interests fosters
intrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn. One way to take learning in a direction
relevant to student interests is to invite student dialogue about the lessons and units of the study.
From a transformational leadership approach, I deliver a scholarly resource that enables a student
to embrace the idea of utilizing his/her uniqueness for comprehending marketing skills, business
practices, and effective management methods. If students are interested in something they'll
want to learn more about it and a great way to help them learn more is by engaging in a
transformational teaching approach.
