I graduated from Bethel University with a degree in Life Science Education. I am licensed for 9-12 Life Science education as well as 5-8 Science. I am currently working on my masters of education with an emphasis on natural science and environmental education at Hamline University.
I am in my fifth year as a science teacher, and I have many years of tutoring experience. I have tutored math (up to algebra 2), Spanish, and a variety of biology classes at the high school and college level.
I really enjoy tutoring algebra since I enjoy the satisfaction of solving problems and recognizing patterns. I am also a big fan of astronomy and earth science as these subjects help us appreciate the vastness of our universe while also helping to make since of its complex processes.
I like to use lots of questions and examples in tutoring as I believe learning is most meaningful when it is connected to your own experiences.
When not teaching or tutoring, I love to spend time with my two adorable cats, Toph and Iroh, or go for a hike and discover a new trail.
