I am a second-year medical student at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI where I love studying pathology and physiology. Previously, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Honors and a minor in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University. Attending school in Detroit for six years has allowed me to explore public health topics such as health disparities, health equities, and its impact on health and medicine, and I am so excited to further pursue these topics as a physician.
My first experience of "tutoring" was in 3rd grade when a friend asked me to edit her essay for English class; since then, I have edited hundreds of essays and have offered writing support for many of my peers, college applicants, medical school applicants, local businesses, and professors. I have four years of experience working as a Kumon tutor in math and reading, and I have also assisted with tutoring in ACT/SAT standardized test preparation. During undergrad, I worked as an emergency medicine clinical research technician, focusing on patient education within health diseases and medication. As a result, I feel comfortable working with adult learners and discussing basic skills. I also worked as an administrative assistant in the WSU Geology Department, where I edited several research manuscripts before publication. During undergrad, I also volunteered with elementary students who were not fluent in English, teaching reading and writing. In my free time, I love creative writing, hiking, and studying theology.
I feel comfortable tutoring a broad range of subjects, but I most enjoy assisting with essays, writing prompts, reading comprehension, standardized test prep, adult literacy, and early mathematics. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and I would be more than happy to assist you. I look forward to getting to know you!
